Kamitaki currently serves as Corporate Counsel to Maui Varieties, Ltd./HouseMart. HouseMart operates Ben Franklin Crafts and Ace Hardware stores in Hawai‘i, and Ace Hardware stores on the west coast.
While involved in his family business, Daniel is continuing his family legacy and commitment to community service. His father, Wayne Kamitaki, is a former JCCH board director and is currently active with the Hawaii Japanese Center in Hilo. "It’s gratifying to have the next generation assume leadership roles in JCCH," commented Christine Kubota, Board Chair. "This involvement is critical to the sustainability and future of the JCCH. I’m looing forward to working with Daniel and all the new member boards in the coming year."
Daniel received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and went on to attend the University of Southern California Gould School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor. He was raised on the Big Island of Hawai‘i and attended Waiakea High School.
