We are now accepting applications for the JCCH Scholarship!

The JCCH Scholarship Program is supported by the Sekiya of Fukuoka/Hawai‘i Endowment Fund. The scholarship will award $2,500 each year.

Qualifications:

Area of Study:  The scholarship is open to undergraduate junior or senior year students enrolled at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa with a major or minor in (1) Asian Studies with a concentration on Japan; (2) Japanese language or literature; or (3) American Studies with a focus on Japanese Americans.

Academic performance:  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

Application:  Interested candidates must submit a cover letter (no longer than one page) stating their interest in the scholarship and complete this scholarship application.

Selection Process:  The JCCH Scholarship Selection Committee will review all written applications. Finalists must be available for an interview with the Scholarship Committee.

Community Service:  Selected candidate must be willing to participate in a community service event with the JCCH. The community service will be determined by JCCH and the selected candidate.

Deadline:  For the Spring 2019 Award, submit your cover letter and completed scholarship application form by November 30, 2018 to nakamoto@jcch.com.
