Furoshiki (Holiday Gift Wrap) with Joy Shimabukuro (Virtual Cultural Class)

Join us for our first Japanese Craft Series class, Furoshiki - Holiday Wrapping with Joy Shimabukuro
Joy Shimabukuro has been with the HouseMart Ben Franklin Crafts for almost 30 years in various roles. She is best known as the host of the Joy of Crafting show on OC16 which has been on the air since 2002. She has always enjoyed learning and making different crafts and then sharing them with others. In 2020, she was asked to do a weekly column on crafting in the Midweek which has been another great way to share crafting ideas with crafters of all ages.
Joy was taught how to do Japanese Style of Gift Wrapping by Master Sensei Shiho Masuda and will be sharing these techniques with you.
Optionally paired with the class for your enjoyment is Niji Junmai Ginjo Brut Sake from Tokyo’s Hasamaya Brewery est. 1757. The brewery is owned and operated by the Cano Family for over 12 generations. The Hasamaya Sake Brewery’s philosophy is “Kansha” which means appreciation and gratitude. The brewery is located in the Miyagi Prefecture of Japan.
