New Year’s ‘Ohana Festival

Ring in the New Year with the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i! Next year’s event will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017. The New Year's ‘Ohana Festival provides fun, food, and culture for the entire family. The event brings the community to the Cultural Center and neighboring Mō‘ili‘ili Field for a festival filled with Japanese and multicultural customs.

The date for the 2017 New Year's ‘Ohana Festival has been set. Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 8, 2017 10:00 am–4:00 pm at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i and Mō‘ili‘ili Field!

This fun-filled event will feature food, crafts, entertainment and cultural demonstrations of the people who make up this island state. Keiki can also enjoy games and make-and-take activities throughout the day. The New Year’s ‘Ohana Festival will be a great way for the community to come together and celebrate the Year of the Rooster in 2017! You won't want to miss this annual tradition as we ring in the New Year and celebrate Hawai‘i's cultural diversity.

Free admission into the festival. There are fees for food and certain activities. Parking is availble at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa parking structure on Dole Street for free with complimentary shuttle service to and from the festival.
